Summit to bring together more than 500 business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with a focus on business growth and access to capital.




With a goal to “learn, build and scale,” the Millionaire Mastermind Academy Awards Luncheon and Entrepreneur Summit on Dec. 16 will convene more than 500 business leaders, entrepreneurs and start-ups with a focus on business growth. Featuring more than 500 small business owners and affluent leaders, the Millionaire Mastermind Summit includes workshops on expanding, access to capital, community engagement efforts, contracting opportunities with the U.S. government and support from the U.S. Small Business Administration for startups, as well as a start-up lab for students and emerging entrepreneurs from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Recognizing that only 2.2 per cent of venture capital funding went to women in 2018, according to the PitchBook, and that less than 0.1 per cent of funding has been allocated to black women over the past decade, the summit features an Entrepreneur Pitch Contest, similar to the well-known “Shark Tank” TV show. Applications are open now for women-owned start-ups interested in delivering a 15-minute presentation to investors during the conference; the top five finalists will be invited to pitch their business live for a chance to win seed funding of $10,000 or more.

“Success in business often comes from adaption, growth and change, and we are proud to celebrate women who are excelling in business today and excited to support those passionate about improving their economic capacity and impact,” said Velma Trayham, founder of the Millionaire Mastermind Academy and CEO of ThinkZILLA Consulting. “Economic empowerment changes lives – not just those of business owners, but of families and entire communities.”

In particular, the opening fireside chat, with lessons from successful and innovative women, will ask “Where do we go from here?” Panellists will share their personal stories and motivations that helped them transform dreams into reality. Workshop sessions will help attendees learn more about business funding and scalability, boosting local and national exposure to draw more customers, reducing the risk of failure and more.

The Missionary of Wall Street: The Next Chapter

Steve Auth, CIO of Federated Investments and author of "The Missionary of Wall Street" has successfully completed his San Gennaro Mission in New York City.

Steve Auth, the author of “The Missionary of Wall Street” and Chief Investment Officer, Equities, at Federated Investors, successfully completed his San Gennaro mission last weekend along with dozens of volunteers. The mission took place on the streets of SoHo in New York City on September 12 and 13.

The Festival of San Gennaro is the largest street festival that takes place in New York each year, drawing revelers from all over New York City and beyond. Amidst the joy and chaos of this beloved occasion, Steve Auth and the missionaries set out to find lost souls and bring them closer to God. Whether attracting interested passerby's with their life-sized cutout of Pope Francis or a much-needed kind word, these “fishers of men” were able to draw large numbers of people into Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. Once inside, individuals were encouraged to light a candle and to receive the Sacrament of Confession. For many lapsed Catholics, this was the first time they had received the Sacrament of Confession in many years.

While the serious task of seeking lost souls was always at the forefront, the San Gennaro mission was not without humorous moments. The cutout of the Pope, a tool explained and highlighted in Auth’s book, "The Missionary of Wall Street," drew joyful revelers who wanted to take pictures with the Pope, and, at one point to take the Pope himself. The Pope snatching episode occurred on the second day of the mission when one high-spirited festival goer snatched the cutout of Pope Francis and fled on foot down the street. When the incident was reported to local police, a manhunt (Pope hunt) ensued and New York’s finest were able to track down the Pope and return him to his place outside Saint Patrick’s.

In the days leading up to the Mission and during the Mission itself, Steve Auth used his Facebook page to share inspiring stories about the work of the missionaries and the souls that they encountered during the Mission.
